Chapter 12

Intense sex for two hours straight had exhausted Francis, and Alex didn’t want to dismiss that. He had cleaned Francis up from head to toe and had left to take a shower. Alex entered the bedroom, wearing the sleepwear Francis had given to him.

“Thought you were already asleep,” Alex said and approached the bed. He slid his hand through Francis’s hair. “I think we’re way too compatible.”

Francis raised a brow. “Isn’t it the opposite? I can’t keep up with you.”

Alex climbed on all fours on top of Francis, over the covers. “All we have to do is train your endurance,” he said with a grin. He kissed Francis and licked at his lips. He’d noticed that Francis liked to play like this sometimes. Francis’s entire demeanor always changed.

Facing up, Francis allowed Alex to slide his tongue past his lips. They swirled their tongues against each other in a lazy kiss. Francis tried to touch Alex, but his arms were stuck under the covers. Instead, he moved his face away and gave Alex’s soft lips a loving, slow kiss.

“You just got my heart racing,” Alex said in a deep tone and nibbled Francis’s chin. He couldn’t help but smile when Francis moaned awkwardly.

Francis looked away. “That means you know how I’ve been feeling,” he said quietly.

Alex caressed Francis’s cheek. “I know. Your heartbeat is honest. I love listening to it.”

“You can hear it right now?” Francis asked, and Alex nodded. “I had no idea.”

“Well, I’m sure you’ve noticed. I have various abilities that aren’t common for most werewolves,” Alex said, and Francis tilted his head. “Because of that, I don’t talk much about myself. Some think I’m showing off. Others grow distant from me due to our differences. Not everyone likes to know I’m aware of how they’re reacting at all times.”

Francis hummed. “I don’t mind. To be honest, that spares me some explanations,” he said with a chuckle. Alex lay on him, the weight making Francis let out a quiet grumble of satisfaction. Francis closed his eyes. “I want us to stay like this for a bit.”

“We can,” Alex said and kissed the side of Francis’s neck. He allowed the warmth of them being together to take over. “Can we watch a movie while having dinner? I would like for us to do normal couple things together.”

“Sure. I guess chasing a werewolf at large isn’t really a couple’s thing to do,” Francis said with a slight smile. His smile vanished as sleep began to take over. “Let’s watch one later instead.”

Alex pulled away to look at Francis. He caressed Francis’s cheek. “Take a nap,” he said and slid into bed. Even if he wasn’t tired in any way, he wanted to spend some time next to Francis, simply relaxing. He gazed as Francis was quick to fall asleep. Alex thought it best to get a few things done while he had some time.

The sound of the cell phone vibrating on the nightstand woke Francis up. He reached for his cell phone and checked the time first.
